Lynne’s whole career has been spent in the education sector, both public and private. Since retiring as an English Secondary teacher and Head of Department she has maintained her involvement in Education through her roles as a private tutor and domestic/international examinations setter and marker. She has also been a volunteer for St. Giles Hospice, the library service and the Witness Court Service. She became a full-time carer for her husband following his Dementia diagnosis in 2017 and, during the following years . has played a significant role in two local Memory Clubs and undertaken a range of instructive Memory Team Cognitive courses and training .
I currently live in Tamworth, having moved from Birmingham in 1971.
I worked for Tamworth Hospitals for 50years, both on the wards and in the Out Patient Department.
I have experience and empathy for the struggles involved, having relatives, and working with people with Dementia.
I’m a retired Mental Health Nurse with 40 years of service. The the last 17 years in NHS Dementia Services. I joined Dementia Caring as a volunteer and more recently as a Trustee to continue my passion of supporting those effected by Dementia on their forward journey.
I'm an experienced project and service management professional with over 20 years of leadership in both public and private sector IT, including work in regulated and high stakes environments. I'm also a certified PRINCE2 and ITIL4 practitioner with a deep appreciation for clear governance, operational accountability and financial stewardship. Having seen the impact of dementia on families first hand, I'm passionate about contributing my time and skills to support financial oversight, long term planning and operational improvements that help the charity thrive.
Have worked in adult social care since I was 18. Initially in Hampshire. The last 26 years as an adults social worker. I love the work that Dementia caring does to support people living with dementia and their families.
